Afghanistan: Man shot dead by unknown gunmen in Kandahar

Kandahar/IBNS: A man was shot dead by unknown gunmen in Afghanistan's Kandahar province on Thursday, media reports said on Saturday.

He was reportedly killed in front of his infant daughter.

The gunmen shot dead the man in Arghandab district of Kandahar province early on Thursday, the officials told Khaama Press.

Gen. Tadin Khan Achakzai, the police chief of Kandahar, confirmed the incident to the Afghanistan-based news agency and blamed the Taliban militants for the murder. 

The deceased person was identified as Amullah.

Meanwhile, unconfirmed reports suggest the victim was a member of the security institutions of Afghanistan and was on his way to market when the gunmen shot him dead, reported Khaama Press.

The Taliban group did not comment on the issue so far.
