Afghanistan: Pakistan head of mission, who escaped armed assault on life, visits home country

Kabul: Pakistan's head of mission in Kabul, Ubaid ur Rehman Nizamani, who recently escaped an armed assault on life during a terror attack in the Embassy in Kabul, has returned home for official engagements, media reports said.

"Our Head of Mission in Kabul Ubaid ur Rehman Nizamani is in Pakistan for a pre-scheduled visit for consultations," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) confirmed in a statement as quoted by Geo News.

Nizamani was reportedly the target of the attack.

A Pakistani security personnel was injured in the incident.

Islamic State terror group has taken responsibility for the attack on Pakistan Embassy in Kabul city of Afghanistan.

Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the incumbent administration in Afghanistan, stated that the assailant who attacked the Pakistani embassy in Kabul was arrested by the Special Forces, reports Khaama Press.
