Afghanistan: Roadside bombing kills district police chief in western Badghis

Kabul, Sept 5 (IBNS): A roadside bombing in Afghanistan's western Badghis province on Tuesday killed a district police chief, media reports said on Wednesday.

The incident also killed a companion of the police chief.

Maqur district police head Ismail Khan Shakoori was killed on Tuesday afternoon when he was examining security checkpoints in Miranzai area, reported Pajhwok Afghan News.

He was killed as the vehicle, in which he was travelling, hit a roadside bomb.

Shakoori was killed on the spot when the vehicle he was travelling in struck a roadside bomb, Badghis police spokesman Naqibullah Amini told the Afghanistan-based news agency.
