Americans, Canadians leave hockey sticks outside houses as tribute to dead Humboldt Broncon members

Ottawa, Apr 8 (IBNS): Several Americans and Canadians kept their hockey sticks outside their houses as a tribute to 15 Humboldt Broncon members, who died due to a crash Saturday, media reports said.

A hashtag PutYourStickOut has been trending on Twitter to pay tribute.

Twitter user Igrcolleen said: "#PutYourStickOut @HumboldtBroncos Hell’s Kitchen, NYC is with you."

Person with username Death by a thousand cuts said: "I just so happen to have 15 sticks in my garage and a green front door."

Kintaro said: "Don’t forget to put your sticks out with the Porch light on in honour of the #HumboldtBroncos. “Let the light Guide you Home” #Canada and the #USA mourns with you."

Mac D. Addy tweeted, "It's 70 degrees in Florida, but it's hard to enjoy the warmth knowing how hard it must be in Humboldt. Sticks are out, lights are green, hearts are broken. Stay strong, Bronco Nation."

dale Lewis said: "For the boys. #putyourstickout #humboldtstrong."

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) has released the names of all the 15 victims of Friday’s horrific crash near Tisdale in Saskatchewan involving the junior hockey team.

The victims include players Adam Herold, Connor Lukan, Evan Thomas, Jacob Leicht, Jaxon Joseph, Logan Boulet, Logan Hunter, Logan Schatz, Stephen Wack, Xavier Labelle, team personnel Brody Hinz, Darcy Haugan, Glen Doerksen, Mark Cross and Tyler Beiber.

The team was on its way to Game 5 of a semi-final against the Nipawin Hawks, also in Saskatchewan, when the crash occurred around 5 pm.

Condolences poured in from every part of the country.

Canada Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe attended the vigil Sunday night.
