Baloch National Movement Germany Chapter demonstrate solidarity with missing persons in Pakistan

The Baloch National Movement Germany Chapter on Saturday demonstrated in solidarity with the long march for the families of Baloch missing persons in Pakistan.

A huge number of members from the Baloch diaspora in Germany participated in the protest. Pamphlets distributed during the protests highlighted the gross human rights violations in Balochistan carried out by Pakistani security forces and the use of force against the peaceful long march against the Baloch genocide, reported ANI.

Member of the Central Committee of Baloch National Movement Hammal Khan while addressing the demonstration, was quoted as saying by ANI: “This movement which started in Turbat after the fake encounter of Balach Mola Bakhsh, is not for one individual or some families. Rather, it is for the entire Baloch nation. Because any movement is neither for an individual nor a particular area or belongs to a party; movement. In reality, it belongs to the entire nation. It is national sense of belonging that contacts us, no matter how far away we are from our motherland.”

Hammal Khan added: “It is also our sense of belonging that today we are here and trying our best to be the voice of our people. He also warned that “the day when we distance ourselves from national sense of belonging, it would be a harbinger of our death as a diaspora.”

Pakistan's Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar, who appeared to be visibly irked, last week said those supporting Baloch protest should join the 'Baloch militants'.

“Advocates of terrorists in Balochistan should go and join them if they are convinced on the veracity of their issue and fight the state along with them, so that we know where they stand and how to deal with them,” he was quoted as saying by Dawn News during a press conference, alluding to rights activists and journalists standing with the Baloch marchers.

The PM said those protesting in Islamabad are  “relatives of those fighting against the state” in Balochistan.

Pakistan police allegedly used tear gas and water cannons to disperse protesters in Islamabad last month.

The protesters demonstrated against the alleged enforced disappearances of men in Balochistan province.
