Balochistan National Party leader shot dead in Pakistan

A Balochistan National Party (BNP-Mengal)party leader was shot dead in Pakistan's Khuzdar region on Monday.

Police told Dawn News the incident took place in the Firozabad area of Khuzdar town when the armed men on motorcycles opened fire on BNP-Mengal leader Mir Khair Muhammad Mardwi.

The leader suffered multiple bullet injuries and died on the spot.

Police reached the spot and shifted the body to Khuzdar District Hospital.

The reason behind killing of the political leader is still not known.

Police have registered a case.

An investigation into the incident is currently underway.
