A Bangladesh court on Wednesday showed actor Siddiqur Rahman arrested in a case filed over the death of Parvez Bepary, who was killed during the quota reform protest in Badda region on July 19 last year.

The deceased person was a furniture shop owner.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md Zakir Hussain passed the order after Gulshan police produced him before the court with a petition, reported The Daily Star.

Parvez's father Md Sabuj Bepary had filed the case on May 29.

He had named ex-PM Sheikh Hasina and 300 others as accused.

Bangladesh witnessed massive protests last year over job quota issue that eventually led to the fall of the former PM Sheikh Hasina-led government.

She fled the nation on August 5, 2024.
