Police have begun investigating the death of a 20-year-old Brazilian woman inside a bus who had over 20 iPhones glued to her skin, media reports said on Sunday.

The identity of the woman has not been revealed so far.

She died after suffering cardiac arrest on July 29.

The woman reportedly became ill during a long-distance journey and died before she could be taken to a hospital.

The woman was travelling alone from Foz do Iguaçu to São Paulo when the bus stopped at a restaurant in Guarapuava, in the central region of Paraná in Brazil, reported Daily Mail.

Emergency service were rushed to the spot immediately after she complained of having breathing problem.

She was treated by Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU) workers, who said she was awake but struggling to breathe, the newspaper reported.

She showed signs of respiratory distress and even appeared to suffer from a seizure.

Paramedics tried to revive her at the scene for 45 minutes.

She was later declared dead.

A sniffer dog inspected her body and found several bottles of alcohol in her luggage.

No drugs were detected in the woman.

In a statement, Paraná Civil Police was quoted as saying by Daily Mail: "The Paraná Civil Police are investigating the case and awaiting the conclusion of forensic reports to clarify the cause of death."

The cell phones that were attached to her body have been sent to the Federal Revenue Service.
