Crime shock in Pakistan: Faisalabad records 15,000 robberies, snatchings and thefts in just one year
Pakistan's Faisalabad district reported more than 15,000 incidents of robbery, snatching and theft in 2025, media reports said.
The incidents caused a cumulative loss of over Rs3.05 billion to citizens, according to official police statistics compiled at the close of the year, reported The Express Tribune.
During the year, police registered 75,576 cases of various categories, reflecting overall law-and-order trends in the district, the newspaper reported.

Amid a rise in reported crimes, Faisalabad police claimed a notable decline in crime compared to 2024, with 7,325 fewer cases registered this year.
City Police Officer (CPO) Sahibzada Bilal Umar described the reduction as "clear evidence of improved policing," expressing confidence that crime would further decline in 2026 due to enhanced enforcement measures and the Safe City Project, the newspaper reported.
According to data obtained by Express, a total of 15,593 cases of robbery, street crime and theft were recorded in 2025
