Beijing: China's State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi recently held the 3rd round of China-Pakistan Foreign Ministers' Strategic Dialogue with Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi in Chengdu, Sichuan Province.

During the meeting, the two ministers called on all warring parties in Afghanistan to agree on a comprehensive ceasefire and work together to achieve a broad-based, inclusive and negotiated political settlement.

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi made the call at the third session of the foreign ministers’ strategic dialogue in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan province, China, reports Tolo News.

On the current situation in Afghanistan, Wang said that as neighboring countries of Afghanistan, both China and Pakistan are most directly affected by the situation in Afghanistan.

Afghanistan is witnessing a resurgence of violence ever since the foreign troops started to move out of the country.

The Taliban forces have started capturing several regions in the country.
