Islamabad/UNI: Pakistani Police killed five terrorists during an operation in southwest Balochistan province, Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) officials said.

The operation was conducted on intelligence information in the Aghbarg area of Quetta, provincial capital of Balochistan province, CTD officials said in a statement on Thursday.

The CTD said the killed terrorists belonged to the banned outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, adding that they were involved in the killing of police and security personnel in the province.

The police personnel also recovered explosive material, hand grenades and suicide jackets from terrorists' hideouts during the operation.

Earlier last week, eight terrorists were killed in two separate operations during clashes with police in Balochistan province, according to CTD officials.
