Marriyum Aurangzeb slams PTI, calls EVMs ‘election fraud machines’

| @indiablooms | Sep 13, 2021, at 05:53 am

Islamabad: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Information Secretary Marriyum Aurangzeb has attacked the use of EVM in polls and said the  federal ministers are attempting to trample upon Pakistan’s constitution to rob the next voting through the ‘election fraud machines’.

Speaking at a news conference here on Saturday,  Aurangzeb lashed out at the government ministers for targeting the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) after its objections on the electronic voting machines (EVMs) which the government wanted to use in the next general elections, reports Dawn News.

The PML-N information secretary accused the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government of attempting to snatch the ECP’s constitutional powers and shifting them to the Prime Minister House.

Hitting hard at the ministers for their criticism of the ECP, she said the PTI “hooligans” by threatening to “burn down the ECP and sending it to hell” had committed an act of terror and they must be held accountable.

“These PTI ministers must have made an example by punishing them so that nobody ever again dares to attack the ECP or threaten its representatives,” she was quoted as saying by Dawn News, adding that this attack on the ECP was not just extremely ‘condemnable but highly shameful’.
