New York, Aug 18 (IBNS) Amid protests over the police shooting of an unarmed black teenager, Missouri Governor Jay Nixon has signed an executive order deploying National Guard troops to Ferguson town in the US, media reports said on Monday.

"Given these deliberate, coordinated and intensifying violent attacks on lives and property in Ferguson, I am directing the highly capable men and women of the Missouri National Guard ... in restoring peace and order to this community," Nixon said in a statement as reported by CNN.

Police and protesters clashed over the death of the teenager on Sunday.

The teenager Michael Brown's autopsy report has unveiled he was shot six times.

"Brown, an unarmed black teenager, was shot dead August 9 by a white police officer. He was shot at least six times, including twice in the head, according to the preliminary results of an autopsy that his family requested," CNN reported.

Colonel Ron Replogle, superintendent of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, on Sunday announced that the curfew put in place within Ferguson remained in effect.

The curfew began at midnight and expired at 5 a.m.
