Pakistan: Balochistan youth found dead after alleged enforced disappearance

The body of a Baloch youth, who was forcibly disappeared, was found dead with severe torture marks on his body in Pakistan's Balochistan region, media reports said.

The body was recovered from Balochistan's Kech district.

The deceased individual was identified as Usman Maqbool.

He was allegedly forcibly disappeared from Turbat region on August 24.

His body was reportedly recovered from Pidrak area of Kech on Tuesday morning.

Usman had previously been abducted in 2019 from the same area and was released after two years in 2021, reported The Balochistan Post.

Pakistani authorities have not commented on the issue so far.

Thousands of people have reportedly gone missing in Balochistan over the past two decades, with many later found dead under suspicious circumstances, often bearing signs of torture, the news portal reported.
