Islamabad, May 1 (IBNS): Pakistani police have arrested a doctor for allegedly spreading HIV virus among his patients in Larkana area of the country, media reports said.

The doctor is allegedly a HIV patient himself.

The arrest was made after an official of the anti-quackery team, Dr Abdul Sami Rajpur, filed a complaint against the doctor last night. The suspect is a government employee and also runs a private clinic, reported Dawn News.

It is not known so far how the doctor used to transmit the disease among his patients.

A local court sent the doctor to three-day physical remand.

As per Dawn News, Larkana Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Siddique Noman confirmed that a first information report (FIR) was registered with Dr Rajpur as the complainant. Confirming the suspect's subsequent arrest, he said a detailed report of the matter will be sent to senior officials for further investigation.

The doctor has rejected allegations against him.
