Pakistan: Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif returns home

Lahore, June 9 (IBNS): Ending all speculation over his possible return to Pakistan, country's Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif returned to the south Asian nation on Sunday.

He reached Pakistan amid tight security arrangement.

Large number of  PML-N workers had reportedly gathered to welcome their leader.

Shehbaz arrived at Lahore's Allama Iqbal International Airport at 4:49am. He arrived on Pakistan International Airlines flight PK-758, reported Dawn News.

According to a Geo News report,  Shehbaz who spent seven weeks in London for medical treatment was cleared to travel by his doctors.

Speaking to reporters at Heathrow airport, the PML-N president was quoted as saying by Geo News that the government had chosen the path of "cruelty and injustice", adding that all decisions pertaining to a future strategy would be made through consultation with opposition parties.

"Baseless news were spread about my return to country. I will take legal action against the ones spreading false news," he said.

He was arrested in connection with the Ashiana Housing case on Oct 5, 2018.

He was released on bail  in February by the Lahore High Court.  

His names was removed from exit control list. 

The Pakistani leader left for London in April.
