Pakistan: Nine cops injured after roadside blast hits their vehicle

At least nine Pakistani policemen were injured after a roadside blast hit their vehicle in Bajaur on Saturday.

Police and Rescue 1122 officials told Dawn News the vehicle was on the Inayat Kallay-Bhai Cheena road when it was hit by a bomb planted by the roadside.

Israr Khan, a spokesman, told Dawn that the contingent was returning to the police station after visiting the Bhai Cheena area for resolving a dispute between two tribes when the incident occurred.

The injured policemen were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The injured individuals were identified as Dilawar Khan, Sahibzada, Muham­mad Rahman, Faiz­ullah, Sajjad Ahmad, Luqman Khan, Hayat­ullah and Ijazul Haq.
