Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan thanked Chinese President Xi Jinping for the message the latter delivered on World Environment Day, which was hosted by Pakistan this year.

Taking to Twitter, Khan applauded Xi's leadership in combating climate change and biodiversity loss along with his offer to cooperate over ecosystem restoration.

Earlier on Saturday, in his message on the occasion of World Environment Day, Xi advised the international community to work with the unprecedented ambition to achieve a fair and reasonable system of global environmental governance.

Calling the earth a “shared home” of humanity, the Chinese leader said a sound ecosystem is essential for the prosperity of civilizations. He also congratulated Pakistan for holding the event.
