Islamabad: A protest was held outside the Sindh Assembly on Sunday over the alleged kidnapping of two Baloch students of University of Karachi by law enforcement agencies.

According to Dawn, the relatives and civil society organisations had set up a protest camp outside the Karachi Press Club (KPC) for the last two days and on Sunday evening, they took out a rally from the KPC to the provincial legislature.

The protesters, including women and children, emoved temporary barriers set by the police Arts Council Chowrangi and staged a protest outside the main gate of the assembly.

The Pakistani daily quoted South-SSP Asad Raza as saying that around 60-70 protestors led by Aamna Baloch, Seemi Din Mohammed Baloch, Abdul Wahab Baloch, Varsa Pirzada and others started marching from the KPC.

He further said that the police did not take any action as the protesters included mostly women and children, and instead negotiations were held to urge them to end protest as budget session would be starting on Monday.

While the protesters had claimed that two Baloch students of KU --Doda Baloch and Ghamshad Baloch -- were allegedly taken away by police’s Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), the latter has denied the claim.
