Pakistan shrine blast: Toll touches 52

Karachi, Nov 13 (IBNS): The death toll in the blast at a Shah Noorani shrine near Hub in Balochistan’s Lasbella district of Pakistan touched 52 on Sunday, media reports said.

The incident left 100 others injured.

The Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack.

According to Geo TV, the dead included women and children while more than 100 were injured in the explosion at Shah Noorani shrine near Hub in Balochistan.

Terrorist group Islamic State  on Saturday claimed responsibility of the blast.

"Khorasan Province of the Islamic State (IS) claimed killing and wounding 130 Shi’ites in a suicide operation in the Hub region of Balochistan, Pakistan," read the SITE Intelligence Group website.

Director-General Inter Services Public Relation Lt Gen Asim Saleem Bajwa  tweeted, "Shah Noorani:50 sldrs with 2 med teams arrived on site.Will treat&evacuate injured.2 heli airborne frm Qta,long flight,will attempt ldng-5."

Talking to Geo News, Additional Deputy Commissioner Lasbella Tariq Mengal said that 500 to 600 people were in the shrine at the time of the blast.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has condemned the incident.

Politician Imran Khan said: "We must move resolutely against sectarian terrorism striking at core of our society. Shah Noorani shrine latest target of condemnable terror act."
