Lahore, Aug 8 (IBNS): At least 46 people have been injured in a truck explosion in Pakistan's Lahore city, reports said.

The incident took place on Monday evening.

Local news outlet The Dawn quoted eye-witnesses as stating that the blast was heavy and may have damaged at least 100 vehicles, including motorbikes and small cars, that were parked along with the truck on Outfall Road.

The blast also caused significant damaged to nearby buildings, shattering window panes.

One eyewitness told the outlet that a nearby building suffered a roof-collapse due to the explosion.

The blast also triggered a power-cut as high voltage electric wires too were damaged.

Police said that the truck in question had been carrying apricots and had been stranded there for at least three days.

The injured have been moved to a nearby hospital, 12 of whom were released following a basic first aid, however, four people are said to be critical.

The blast also left a 10-15 feet crater on the spot.

Mayor Mubashir Javed told reports that they will initiate an investigation and look at all angles.
