| @indiablooms | Feb 09, 2025, at 11:58 pm

At least two policemen died after suspected terrorists attacked their police post in the Fatehkhel area of Bannu district in Pakistan on Friday, media reports said.

A police official said that assailants used both light and heavy weapons in the midnight attack.

“It was an attack from all sides, aimed at seizing control of the police post,” the official told Dawn News.

The official said police officers engaged the attackers until reinforcements arrived.

He said the policemen successfully repelled the militants’ attempt to overrun the police post, forcing them to flee after a fierce gunfight.

The two deceased policemen were identified as Rahimullah and Ziaullah.

The bodies were immediately shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital.

Pakistan is witnessing a spike in terror attacks in recent years.
