Prince William, Kate commence Bhutan trip, meet country's royal couple

Thimpu, Apr 14 (IBNS) Britain's Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton reached Bhutan on Thursday as they commenced their two-day visit to the Himalayan nation.

They met the country's King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Queen Jetsun Pema.

The couple were welcomed in the nation by traditional Bhutanese musical and dance performances.

"This afternoon TRH attended an archery event in Thimphu, hosted by Prince Jigyel Ugyen Wangchuck #RoyalVisitBhutan," the Kensington Palace tweeted.

The Prince and Kate tried their hand at the national sport, as well as other traditional Bhutanese games.

Prince William and his wife arrived in Bhutan from India where they met top political leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi,  cricketers and Bollywood stars.
