Quebec, Ontario report highest Covid-19 cases in Canada

Ottawa/IBNS: Quebec and Ontario have reported the largest number of Covid-19 cases nationwide in Canada, media reports said.

Ontario had reported a downward trend in the number of infected cases last week, but since the beginning of this week, there has been a sudden surge in the number.

The confirmed cases dropped to 390 in Ontario on May 20, but after that, the surge continued with the confirmation of cases more than 400 each day till May 25.

On top of that, Ontario is not able to reach the daily benchmark of the tests performed.

The number of confirmed cases in Quebec had shown to be greater than 400 each day for the past several days. and had reached the maximum of 2209 on May 4.

On May 5 the number dropped to 758. But since then, the number of confirmed cases showed an inconsistent trend between 500 and 900.

The trend this week showed 500 to 700 confirmed cases.

As per the Covid tally, Quebec has surpassed Ontario.
