Strong economy cannot be imagined in an unstable state torn by terrorism: Shehbaz Sharif

Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday said prevalence of terrorism in his nation was a complicated matter and everyone needs to play their role to end the menace.

"A strong economy can not be imagined in an unstable state involved in terrorism," Sharif was quoted as saying by Geo News while addressing the meeting of the National Action Plan (NAP) Apex Committee.

The forum was reportedly attended by  several high-ranking officials.

As the country reels from recurring incidents of terrorism, including attacks on Chinese nationals on Pakistani soil, the prime minister said that every institution, ministry, provincial government or agency needed to play an active role in dealing with this challenge, the news channel reported.

"The war against terrorism is the prime obligation of all institutions of the state. It is our joint responsibility to implement the state's governance with full force," he said.

Sharif said the country's political and religious leadership must be completely clear in order to fight against terrorism.

Describing the situation as Pakistan's 'own war', he said the country should take responsibility of it.
