Islamabad: Flag of a Taliban insurgent group, which is currently controlling Afghanistan, was raised on the top of a women's madrasa in Islamabad city of Pakistan last week, media reports said.

Lal Masjid (Red Mosque) Spokesperson Hafiz Ehtesham has told The Pakistan Daily that the flag of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has been flown in Jamia Hafsa and that Maulana Abdul Aziz has announced to hold Shariah and Fateh Mubarak conference in the lal masjid.

The flag was later removed after local administration intervened into the matter.

Photos and videos have gone viral on the social media where children of the seminary could be seen singing 'Salam Taliban' and holding the flag of the group.
