TLP to host protests against Imran Khan govt in several Pakistani cities over inflation

Islamabad: Religious party Tehreek-e-Labbaik (TLP) has announced it will host protests in several Pakistani cities against inflation under Prime Minister Imran Khan’s regime in the upcoming days.

According to reports, demonstrations are expected to take place on Mar 23 in Karachi city.

Meanwhile, there are reports saying that a protest is to be held at Sacramento CA on February 27 around 1 pm for a month-long campaign “Sanction Pakistan” as Islamabad invaded Balochistan in 1948 and occupied the region, reports ANI news agency.

Meanwhile, prices of key petroleum products in Pakistan may increase by Rs. 10 per litre on Monday for the next fortnight, media reports said on Sunday.

This spike could be caused due to higher international oil prices.

The benchmark crude price has increased from $95 per barrel to $99 in the international market over the past fortnight of import orders placed by oil marketing companies while the exchange rate has slightly depreciated, reports Dawn News.

Informed sources told the Pakistani newspaper that based on the existing tax rates, import parity price and exchange rate, the prices of petrol (motor gasoline) and high-speed diesel (HSD) had been worked out to go up by about Rs5.60 and Rs4.50 per litre, respectively. Likewise, the prices of kerosene and light diesel oil (LDO) have been estimated to go up by about Rs4 and Rs3.70 per litre, respectively.
