Washington/Sputnik: US President Donald Trump said he has decided not to give any statement to the World Health Organization today and will make a statement soon.

"I chose not to make a statement today. I’ll be giving them a statement sometime in the near future, but I chose not to give a statement," Trump said on Monday. "I am not happy with the World Health Organization ... I am not happy with the World Trade Organization at all."

Trump said he is considering reducing US contribution to the World Health Organization from $450 million to $40 million. He added that a decision will be made "fairly soon."

Trump has suspended US payments to the World Health Organization pending a review of how the organization handled the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak.

China has said it released information about the virus in a timely manner. The World Health Organization said its emergency declaration gave countries plenty of time to prepare.
