US: 5 killed, 21 injured in Texas mass shooting

Washington, Sep 1 (IBNS): At least five people got killed and 21 injured in a mass shooting incident in Texas in the United States.

"We have at least 21 victims, 21 shooting victims and at least five deceased at this point in time," Odessa Police Chief Michael Gerke told reporters.

While three police officers were injured in the shooting, the gunman was killed in an encounter with the security forces.

This comes less than a month after a gunman killed 22 people in the Texas city of El Paso.

Taking note of the shooting, US president Donald trump tweeted: "Just briefed by Attorney General Barr about the shootings in Texas. FBI and Law Enforcement is fully engaged. More to follow."
