Multiple people are believed to have been killed in a shooting at an In-N-Out Burger restaurant in Twin Falls, Idaho, on Saturday, according to local authorities.

The Twin Falls Police Department confirmed that the suspected gunman is dead and that there is no ongoing threat to the public.

In a statement posted on Facebook, police said: "Multiple individuals have been transported to St. Luke's Magic Valley Medical Center. Tragically, there have been fatalities. We are currently working to notify next of kin, and additional details will be released when appropriate."

"The suspect in this incident is deceased, and there is no ongoing threat to the public at this time," the statement added.

Authorities have not yet disclosed the identity of the suspect or confirmed the total number of people killed in the shooting.

"It appears there was one shooter who is deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound," Duane Rubink, chief of the neighboring Jerome Police Department, told CNN.

The motive behind the attack remains under investigation.

Meanwhile, In-N-Out President Lynsi Snyder confirmed in a Facebook post that one of the restaurant's employees was among those killed in the shooting.

Reacting to the incident, U.S. Senator Mike Crapo said on X: "I'm monitoring the news out of Twin Falls of an active shooter situation. I urge locals and visitors to obey all directions from law enforcement, avoid the area, and report any suspicious activity immediately. I'm grateful for the swift response of Idaho's first responders."

Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting and are expected to release further details as the investigation progresses.
