Vizag engineer kidnapped in Nigeria
Vishakhapatnam, Jul 1 (IBNS) : Two Indian employees, including a civil engineer of a cement company from Vishakhapatnam, were kidnapped by unidentified miscreants in Nigeria on Wednesday morning, The Times of India reported.
Officials of Dongote Projects informed the family members of Mangipudi Sai Srinivas in Vizag that the 44-year-old civil engineer, a resident of VIP Road area, and his colleague, were waylaid when they were on their way to work.
"Dongote Projects officials informed me on Thursday that my husband Sai Srinivas and his colleague Anish Sharma were kidnapped while they were on their way to work.The officials said the company has already approa ched the Indian Embassy in Niger and also lodged a complaint with the local police.However, we have no clue as to why they were kidnapped as there is no ransom call till now," Srinivas's wife Lalita told TOI.
When asked about it, the MEA spokesperson said the Indian Consulate in Nigeria has no information of such a kidnapping.
TOI quoted Lalita as saying that her husband Sai Srinivas has been working for the cement company Dongote Projects for the past three years and he is based in Chibok town in Nigeria.
