Islamabad: Pakistan's key opposition leader Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Wednesday condemned the assault of a female Tiktoker in Lahore by a mob and said such an incident should shame every Pakistani.

"The assault of a young women by a mob at #minarepakistan should shame every Pakistani. It speaks to a rot in our society. Those responsible must be brought to justice. The women of Pakistan feel insecure and it is all our responsibility to ensure safety and equal rights to all," he tweeted.

Punjab government spokesman Fayyazul Hassan Chohan also condemned the Minar-e-Pakistan incident.

He said the culprits are being identified through video footage.

“The incident of assault on a woman in Greater Iqbal Park is a shameful act which has brought shame to the society,” Fayyaz Chohan said in a statement today as quoted by Geo News.

Police have registered a case against nearly 400 people for allegedly harassing a young woman Tiktoker at Azadi Flyover in Pakistan's Lahore city.

Pakistan Minister Asad Umar also condmened the incident and tweeted: "What happened at minare Pakistan is deeply disturbing. There needs to be serious introspection of the causes of this ugly face of society. What are we teaching at home & in schools, our laws, how laws are implemented etc. Women cannot be left feeling insecure."
