Thugs of Hindostan: Take a look at lead actors' costume designing
Mumbai, Oct 29 (IBNS): With few days left for the release of Vijay Krishna Acharya directorial upcoming Hindi movie Thugs of Hindostan, the filmmakers have revealed the research behind the costume designing of the actors.
Thugs of Hindostan, which stars Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh, is set to treat audiences across all age groups with its action sequences along with an epic adventure and war on the seas.
Set in the 18th century, the costumes of the actors have also been designed likewise.
Khudabaksh (Amitabh Bachchan)
The costume of this character has been designed keeping in mind of a "warrior" who is a "farmer by heart". Bachchan could be seen wearing a dhoti and kurta, giving a farmer-type look, with an armour that resemble a "warrior". The kurta has a linen and cotton reap with a mulmul lining. Khudabaksh, like his costumes, has a contrasting personality.
Regarding his costume, Bachchan said: "The costume designers have gone through a huge process of labour and research to design something."
Firangi (Aamir Khan)
Except a dhoti, Firangi wears a jacket. Apart from dhoti, Firangi could be seen wearing everything which are stolen from someone (in the film), said Aamir.
Suraiyya (Katrina Kaif)
Katrina's costumes were designed keeping in mind the characteristics of Suraiyya. Transparent muslin fabrics were used for the blouses given to Katrina to wear in the film. Along with the costume, the nose ring is an item which seems attractive for Suraiyya.
Speaking about the costume, Katrina said: "For this character, we all wanted costumes which are little raw, rustic for the bohemian feel to come to it."
Zafira (Fatima Sana Shaikh)
Fabrics, which were draped multiple times, were used for Fatima. Zafira's character also carries a designed armour. Fatima also had to wear a designed archery gloves.
The film is slated to release on Nov 8.
