Akali leader Manjinder S Sirsa files complaint against Shah Rukh, Anand L Rai over Zero poster
Chandigarh, Nov 6 (IBNS): Akali Dal leader Manjinder S Sirsa, who is also the Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) general secretary, has filed a complaint against Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and director Anand L. Rai over upcoming Hindi film Zero's one poster which allegedly hurts "Sikh sentiments".
Sirsa said the poster showing Shah Rukh, who is the lead actor in the film, wearing Kirpan as an "ordinary dagger' hurts the religious sentiments of Sikhs.
Kirpan is a part of religious commandments given by Guru Gobind Singh in 1699. It is one of the five articles of faith which Singh had demanded that Sikhs must wear.
Saying that he also wrote a letter to Shah Rukh and Rai, Sirsa said in a tweet, "I have written a letter to actor of @Zero21Dec @iamsrk & director @aanandlrai to withdraw the objectionable scene and poster showing Kirpaan as ordinary dagger (.) Filed a complaint as well as this promotion hurts Sikh sentiments (.)"

Zero's trailer was launched on Nov 2, on the occasion of Shah Rukh's 53rd birthday. In the film, the veteran actor will be seen playing the role of a dwarf.
Shah Rukh has been partnered by his Jab Tak Hai Jaan co-stars Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma.
Both Katrina and Anushka, the two leading Bollywood actresses, will also be seen with their limitations in the film, which is slated to release on Dec 21.
While Katrina is shown as an actress who is battling alcoholism, Anushka is depicted as someone suffering from cerebral palsy in the trailer.
