Deepika Padukone to share "something super exciting" on 33rd birthday
Mumbai, Jan 5 (IBNS): Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone has said she is going to share "something super exciting" with her fans and followers on her 33rd birthday on Saturday.
On Friday, Deepika took to Instagram to share a story saying, "Something super exciting coming up soon. Can't wait to share this with you all! Love. Deepika"
The actress, who has recently tied her nuptial knot with actor Ranveer Singh, was last seen on silver screen in early 2017.
Deepika has been absent from films since the release of filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat. However, she is set to begin her shooting for Meghna Gulzar's next film Chhapaak, which stars actor Vikrant Massey.
The film will bring out Deepika's first collaboration with Meghna, whose Hindi film Raazi received critical acclaims in 2018.
In Chhapaak, Deepika will play the real life character of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal.
Journey in film industry:
Deepika's journey in the Hindi film industry began with superstar Shah Rukh Khan way back in 2007. She caught the limelight with her first film Om Shanti Om.
After getting a breakthrough, Deepika, a former model, featured in Bachna Ae Haseeno, opposite actor Ranbir Kapoor whom she had dated for some years.
Despite bagging a couple of hits, the actress had to go through ordeals as some of her films didn't market well. Ultimately she made a comeback in 2012 with Cocktail, a romantic film, which showcased her in a new avatar as a character named "Veronica".
Ever since Cocktail, Deepika never looked back as she went on to emerge as a superstar in the world of Indian cinema with films like Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Chennai Express, Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, Piku, Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat.
She also kept her footprint in Hollywood by starring opposite actor Vin Diesel in xXx: Return of Xander Cage in 2017.
Crisis in life:
Taking everyone to surprise, Deepika, not conforming to conventionality, came out with her story of depression. She publicly shared her experience of how she had to take the external help to nurse her mental illness.
