Mumbai, Jan 18 (IBNS): Actor Kangana Ranaut has reminded the Karni Sena that she was a Rajput and threatened to "destroy" each one of them if they continued to "harass her".

Kangana's Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, based on the historical queen Laxmi Bai who fought the British East India Company in 1857, is set to release on January 25.

“Four historians have certified Manikarnika, we have got censor certificate as well, Karni Sena has been conveyed this but they are continuing to harass me. If they don’t stop then they should know I am also a Rajput and I will destroy each one of them,” NDTV quoted a statement by the actor.

The makers organising a special screening of the film for President Ram Nath Kovind at Rashtrapati Bhavan, said reports.

The Karni Sena had sent a notice to the makers of the film saying it would face protests if it maligned Laxmi Bai in any way. Earlier, the outfit had infamously protested against the making of Padmaavat, vandalised the film sets and assaulted director Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

Apart from Kangana, who has co-directed the film, Manikarnika stars Suresh Oberoi, Danny Denzongpa and Jisshu Sengupta.
