Uri: Vicky Kaushal's war movie crosses Rs.200 crore mark

Mumbai, Feb 9 (IBNS):  Actor Vicky Kaushal starrer Uri has crossed Rs. 200 crore mark, earning appreciation from fans still now.

Film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted: "#UriTheSurgicalStrike continues to dominate, unaffected by new releases... Surpasses *fifth Fri* biz of #Baahubali2 [#Hindi; ₹ 1.56 cr] by a big margin... [Week 5] Fri 2.13 cr. Total: ₹ 202.52 cr. India biz. #Uri #HowsTheJosh."

Uri is the first blockbuster of the year.

It released on Jan 11.

The movie is based on the surgical strike conducted by Indian Army on Sept 29, 2016.

The events goes back to Sept 18, 2016, when 19 soldiers were killed in an early morning attack by Pakistani terrorists.

The attack was carried out at the 12 Infantry Brigade headquarters in Uri.

On Sept 29, Indian Army's Special Forces conducted “surgical strikes” on terror launch pads across Line of Control (LoC), winning appreciations from countrymen.

Apart from Vicky, Uri stars Paresh Rawal and Yami Gautam in the lead roles.
