NCW sends notice to Vivek Oberoi for sharing Meme on Aishwarya Rai Bachchan on Twitter
New Delhi, May 21 (IBNS): The National Commission for Women on Tuesday sent a notice to Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi for posting an “insulting” and “misogynist” meme on Twitter where he compared poll results with actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's personal life.
In its notice, the panel said the post was “extremely offensive, unethical and shows disrespect towards the dignity and respect of women in general.”
The panel directed Oberoi to give a 'satisfactory explanation' to the Commission on the matter.
“You have made insulting and misogynistic post on twitter carrying picture of a minor girl and a woman. It has been reported that you had drawn a sly comparison between the poll result and a woman’s personal life,” read the notice.

The post has been condemned by several people so far.
NCW chairperson Rekha Sharma tweeted: "This tweet is absolutely Disgusting, distasteful, and degrading a women. @NCWIndia will be serving notice to @vivekoberoi."

Vivek, who reportedly dated Asishwarya Rai Bachchanin early 2000s, posted a meme where he compared the upcoming Lok Sabha poll results with the personal life of the actress.
