Bollywood film War showcases a major onscreen face-off between two actors and dancing sensations, Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff. As the film releases on Friday, IBNS-TWF brings some excerpts of Hrithik's interviews where he also reflected on his career and gushes over Shroff who at one point was inspired by him
You had a huge success with Super 30. What is your present mindset right now for War?
I have been waiting for this kind of a film for a long time. It is a genre that I really love and finally I have got the chance to do it after 5 or 6 years. I am not nervous but I was looking forward to the completion of the film.
How did you react to the song Ghungroo?
Initially I didn't react at all. It is a kind of a song which one has to listen to twice or thrice before it sticks. But once it sticks to mind, it is just great. Initially I couldn't place the word Ghungroo in place considering my character. It threw me off initially but of course later things fell into place. Then I fell in love with the song.
After spending a sufficient time in the industry, do you feel insecure looking at your contemporaries?
No. I don't see it as any kind of competition. I see it in a very positive way. I feel I am grateful that other people are here around me to push me to excel. It is important to have that drive. I am very lazy and I feel I am doing nothing. I am a kind of person who looks for something challenging so that it drives me to my fullest potential.
Which quality you think Tiger Shroff has because of which he is doing so well?
It is very simple. I think Tiger is going to last (in the industry) for the next 50 years or more because of the discipline he has. Also he is a very sensitive actor. He understands the nuances. So Tiger is an incredible mix of vulnerability and strength which is very attractive to me. It makes for a very powerful core when one has the ability to express, emote and feel the two extremes, which are the vulnerability and strength.
Do you find yourself in Tiger Shroff?
I don't see this. What I see is that I inspired him at one point of time. Now at this moment, he inspires me.
