Mumbai/IBNS: I am destroyed. This is how Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan reacted on hearing the news of the demise of co-actor, friend and later kin, Rishi Kapoor, on Thursday morning at age 67.

Amitabh Bachchan tweeted, "He's GONE .. ! Rishi Kapoor .. gone .. just passed away ..I am destroyed ! He later deleted the tweet though.

They played brothers, friends and kins in many Bollywood films and even were connected by an important family marriage.

Their last tango together was in 2018 in the film "102 Not Out" , a comedy-drama film directed by Umesh Shukla based on the eponymous Gujarati play written by Saumya Joshi

The characters of Akbar and Anthony (Rishi and Amitabh respectively as separated in childhood brothers) along with Vinod Khanna (Amar) in the Manmohan Desai multi-starrer Amar Akbar Anthony in 1977 is an all time favourite of Indian cine-goers.

They were together in Coolie, a film which saw Amitabh Bachchan injured badly during shooting in 1982.

Yash Chopra’s ‘Kabhie Kabhie’ is another film to mention.

They are connected by family weddings too.

Nikhil Nanda, son of Ritu Kapoor, Raj Kapoor's daughter and Rajan Nanda, is married to Shweta Bachchan, daughter of  Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan.
