Sushant Singh Rajput death probe: Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Shekhar Kapur to give statements to Mumbai Police
Mumbai/IBNS: Indian filmmakers Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Shekhar Kapur will give statements to the Mumbai Police in connection with the probe into actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death, media reports said.
Sushant had hanged himself at his flat in Mumbai's Bandra on Jun 14.
The post-mortem report had confirmed that Sushant had committed suicide.
The 34-year old actor's death had triggered a debate on social media with several people including popular film personalities calling out the Bollywood biggies for allegedly encouraging nepotism, favouritism in the film industry.
The Maharashtra government had ordered a probe into Sushant's death as the actor had reportedly lost a number of film projects in the past few months due to nepotism.
Reportedly, Sushant was undergoing mental depression for the last six months.
28 people including Sushant's family members, friends, rumoured girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, last co-star Sanjana Sanghi have already given their statements to police.
After Sushant's death, filmmaker Shekhar Kapur had tweeted, "I knew the pain you were going through. I knew the story of the people that let you down so bad that you would weep on my shoulder. I wish Iwas around the last 6 months. I wish you had reached out to me. What happened to you was their Karma. Not yours."
