Taapsee Pannu counters Kangana Ranaut's 'nepotism' attack with old videos
Mumbai/IBNS: Indian actress Taapsee Pannu took to Twitter to share some old videos where Bollywood 'Queen' Kangana Ranaut, who has recently hit out at the prevailing nepotism in the Hindi film industry, was seen having peace with star kids' privilege.
In a video retweeted by Taapsee, Kangana was heard saying she used to perceive the star kids' privilege as a Bollywood "quota" which she enjoys in some other fields.
Kangana had said in an interview, "The kind of background I come from, my father is a businessman, my mother is a teacher and my grandfather was an IAS officer and my great grandfather was a freedom-fighter.
"So when I was giving my Pre-Medical Entrance Test, I had a particular quota for me because I come from a particular family. So when I come here, I look at star kids as they have different quota, how I had. So I am just coming into their territory..." (sic)
Taking a dig at Kangana, Taapsee wrote on Twitter, "Ooooooooh. Saara kasoor yeh quota system ka hai! Chalo this was simple to understand . Ho gaya solve. Simple. All good now in our ‘territory’ or their ‘territory’ matlab jiski bhi hai aap samajh jao yaar."

In the wake of the suicide of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, Kangana had called out the Bollywood biggies including Karan Johar, Mahesh Bhatt, Alia Bhatt for indulging in nepotism leading the onscreen MS Dhoni to take the extreme step.
Besides slamming the top B-Town personalities over Sushant's death, Kangana had targeted some other actresses including Taapsee who also do not have any lineage in Bollywood.
Kangana told PinkVilla, "It is so sad. I do not know what to say because I have been in their place. People who come from outside, I have said it in my earlier interviews as well, we [outsiders] do not have the comfort of our parents’ houses. I am not Anil Kapoor or Mahesh Bhatt’s daughter.
"Or when you talk about Swara Bhasker, Taapsee Pannu or Richa Chadha, I understand they have bills to pay for their house; everybody is not and doesn’t want to live the kind of life I aspire. So, I do understand where they’re coming from and there are a lot of pressures."
In an interview with Republic TV recently, Kangana has claimed Mahesh Bhatt had humiliated her by throwing chappals (slippers) at her for refusing his film.
She has also questioned Bhatt's involvement in Sushant's relationship with actress Rhea Chakraborty.
But in an old interview, which has been retweeted by Taapsee in her micro-blogging site, Kangana was heard lauding Bhatt.
"I was fortunate enough to get my first break with Mahesh Bhatt who according to me is one of the finest teachers of the art," Kangana had said.
Interacting with journalist Rahul Kanwal, Kangana on star kids in the same event had said, "The truth is, it really doesn't matter. It's hard to get that first break but once your film releases, it's up to the audiences and so many of them have been rejected, no matter from where you come from...... Nothing really matters. Each one of them has their own struggle to go through."
In the same programme, Kangana had said "it's perfectly okay" to have a relationship with a "superstar boyfriend" to get launched in the film industry.
"There is nothing wrong in this," the actress had said.
Retweeting the video, Taapsee said, "Arre !!???? Toh ab final kya hai ? Matter karta hai to be from the ‘inside’ or no. Yaar yeh sab kuch bohot confusing hota jaa raha hai I’m gonna sign out of this before I forget ki mera stand kya hai."
