Mumbai/IBNS: Superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who celebrates Ganesh Chaturthi with his family every year, was trolled for his post on the festival.

Apparently the trolls had a problem with SRK celebrating the Hindu festival as he is a Muslim.

The actor shared a black-and-white image of himself with a red teeka on his forehead.

In his post, Khan wrote: "Prayers and visarjan done... This #GaneshChaturthi, may Lord Ganesha bestow upon you and your loved ones, blessings and happiness... Ganpati Bappa Morya!"

The post led to many hate reactions in his comment thread.

Shah Rukh Khan, who is married to Gauri, Hindu by religion, reportedly raised their three children Aryan, Suhana and AbRam with both faiths.

Besides Ganesh Chaturthi, SRK and his family celebrate Diwali, Eid and Holi with equal grandeur.

On the work front, he was last seen in Anand L Rai's 2018 movie 'Zero'.

His produced Netflix film 'Class Of '83', starring Bobby Deol in the lead role, released last week.

It has been reported that Khan may play the titular role in Siddharth Anand's film 'Pathan',  to be produced by Yash Raj Films.
