#BoycottKareenaKhan trends on Twitter amid rumours of actor playing Sita's role onscreen

Mumbai/IBNS: #BoycottKareenaKhan started trending on micro-blogging site Twitter on Saturday morning amid rumours of senior Bollywood actor Kareena Kapoor Khan playing the role of Sita in film Ramayana, based on Hindu epic with the same name.

One Prahlad Malviya tweeted, "why? We do not want Taimur mother as a Sita."

User Arpita Chatterjee said, "Kareena Kapoor Khan to charge a whopping amount for the role of Sita. #BoycottKareenaKhan And we should also #BoycottTheProducer and the director of the film who plan her for the role of "Mata Sita" . Why people from different religion will play such characters!!"

Another user said, "No "Hindu" of the country will accept "Ammi" of "Temur" as Mata Sita at any cost."

However, questions are there whether the rumour has any truth in it or not as veteran writer K Vijayendra Prasad has rubbished it while speaking to SpotboyE.

Kareena Kapoor Khan, who got married to his colleague Saif Ali Khan, had earlier faced public ire for naming their son after Turco-Mongol conqueror Taimur.

Regarding Ramayana film, actors Deepika Padukone and Hrithik Roshan were also speculated to play the roles of Sita and Ram respectively.
