Kolkata/IBNS: The new song 'Vande Mataram' from upcoming Bengali film 'Golondaaj' was released Saturday on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.

This film by Dhrubo Banerjee is a historic fiction showcasing the brave journey of Nagendra Prasad Sarbadhikari who introduced Football as a mainstream sport in the country.

After 'Juddhang Dehi', this is the second song of 'Golondaaj' in the list that has been released.

Talking about recreating Vande Mataram, music Director Bickram Ghosh stated “It’s a complete honour to work on the recreation of our national song, the words of which still gives a shiver to every Indian even after so many years of independence!

"The recreation of a song that already has so many versions of itself, was a bit challenging, as the aim was to deliver something new in an old box. Nirmalya did an outstanding job in voicing the song. It was a pleasure to work with the entire music team as I have seen them investing their 100 percent passion and dedication in this journey of creating Golondaaj’s music. Vande Mataram is a passion project that will remain the most special work of my life.”

The ensemble cast of 'Golondaaj' comprising Dev, John Bhattacharya and others along with Director Dhrubo Banerjee were present at the 'Vande Mataram' song launch event.

'Golondaaj' is scheduled for Oct 10 release.
