Mumbai: Actress Anushka Sharma left her fans curious when she dropped the teaser of her upcoming Netflix movie Chakda Xpress where she will be seen playing the role of former Indian women's cricket team skipper Jhulan Goswami.

Anushka tweeted: "It is a really special film because it is essentially a story of tremendous sacrifice. Chakda Xpress is inspired by the life and times of former Indian captain Jhulan Goswami and it will be an eye-opener into the world of women’s cricket."

The movie teaser was released at a time when movie lovers relished watching Ranveer Singh portray the character of Kapil Dev in his latest release 83. The movie is based on India's 1983 World Cup victory under Dev's leadership.

Chakda Xpress is directed by Prosit Roy.

The movie will mark the return of Anushka on the big screen after a long time.

She was last seen in the film Zero in 2018.
