Teary send-off to singing sensation KK as family-friends, fans remember each 'pal'

Mumbai/UNI: "Hum rahe ya na rahe...Kal yaad ayenge yeh pal.." just like in his songs, singer KK, who enthralled generations from 90s onwards with his soulful rendition of love songs, heartaches and almost all phases of life and around, left his family, friends and industry colleagues teary eyed on Thursday as they bid him final adieu.

As Bollywood celebrities lined up to pay last respects to the late singer, his wife and children were inconsolable.

The last rites of playback singer Krishnakumar Kunnath was performed by son Nakul at the Versova Hindu Cemetery in the city suburb.

Members from Bollywood's singing fraternity including Shreya Ghoshal, Alka Yagnik, Abhijeet Bhattacharya, Papon were present.

The 53-year-old singer passed away on Tuesday night following a performance at a Kolkata event.

It sent shockwaves across the entertainment industry. Many celebs took to social media at the late hour to express shock and sadness at the demise.

Ahead of the last rites, his daughter, Taamara penned an emotional note.

KK died of a suspected heart attack after his Kolkata college event. His last performance was at the college at Nazrul Mancha in south Kolkata that lasted for almost an hour when purported viral videos on social media showed his visible discomfort during the performance.

Taamara and KK's wife Jyothy also took to Instagram and shared details of his funeral along with a short note.

Bollywood personalities including Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Dia Mirza, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Shanaya Kapoor, Vishal Bhardwaj, and others mourned the singer's death.

So did his fans who on every FM channel spoke of their association with KK, that lasted from their teen years till date.

KK sang in several languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Bengali. He is best known for his songs "Pyar ke pal", "Aankhon Mein Teri", "Khuda Jaane" and "Tadap Tadap".
