Chennai: Telugu release Karthikeya 2 is making a strong mark at the Box Office and even marched ahead of Bollywood major Aamir Khan's Laal Singh Chaddha and Amshay Kumar's Raksha Bandhan.
The film was initially released in 50 screens but later with gaining popularity it is now screened across 1000 on day 6, media reports said.
The Hindi version of the film earned Rs. 5.75 crores at the Box Office till Thursday.
Film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted: "#Karthikeya2 [#Hindi] shows excellent trending, despite biggies like #LSC and #RB... Lack of major opposition till #Liger should work in its favour... Sat 7 lacs, Sun 28 lacs, Mon 1.10 cr, Tue 1.28 cr, Wed 1.38 cr, Thu 1.64 cr. Total: ₹ 5.75 cr. #India biz. HINDI version."
Karthikeya 2’s dubbed Hindi version recorded better numbers than Laal Singh Chaddha and Raksha Bandhan on Friday and it is nothing but shocking. Laal Singh Chaddha and Raksha Bandhan added Rs. 1.10 cr a piece. Based on Saturday advances, it can’t be ruled out that Karthikeya 2 will generate more revenue than both films combined, reports Pinkvilla.
The domestic total of Laal Singh Chaddha stands at a little under Rs. 52 crore after 9 days while Raksha Bandhan stands at a meagre total of Rs. 38.40 cr. Both films are disasters at the Indian box office. As for overseas, Laal Singh Chaddha is performing relatively better, although no where even close to what was expected out of it, the news portal reported.
Karthikeya 2 is a 2022 Indian Telugu-language mystery adventure film written and directed by Chandoo Mondeti.
The film serves as a sequel to the 2014 film Karthikeya and stars Nikhil Siddhartha, Anupama Parameswaran, and Anupam Kher.
