Bollywood rockstar Kartik Aaryan will feature in Aashiqui 3

Mumbai: Actor Kartik Aaryan will feature in Aashiqui 3, the third movie of the hit franchise.

The third movie of the franchise will be directed by Barfi famed Anurag Basu.

Aaryan said he is a big fan of Basu.

Aaryan told Variety: “The timeless classic ‘Aashiqui’ is something I grew up watching and working on ‘Aashiqui 3’ is like a dream come true. I feel privileged yet grateful collaborating with Bhushan Kumar and Mukesh Bhatt for this opportunity. I’ve been a big fan of Anurag Basu’s work and collaborating with him on this one will definitely shape me in many ways.”

Aaryan is considered as one of the most bankable stars in Bollywood at present. He just registered a Box Office hit with  Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.

Aashiqui, which released in 1990, is an Indian Hindi musical romantic drama film and first installment of Aashiqui series that was directed by Mahesh Bhatt, starring Rahul Roy, Anu Aggarwal and Deepak Tijori in pivotal roles.

A sequel to the film, Aashiqui 2, with a completely new theme, directed by Mohit Suri with Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor, was released on 26 April 2013.
