Farhan Akhtar breaks silence on replacing SRK with Ranveer Singh in 'Don 3'
Mumbai/IBNS: The social media is, safe to say, divided over the casting of Ranveer Singh as Don in 'Don 3' replacing superstar Shah Rukh Khan who had featured in the first two installments of the franchise directed by Farhan Akhtar.
Farhan has recently revealed it's not SRK but Ranveer will feature in 'Don 3'.

Now the director has opened up on his decision to replace the superstar with Ranveer, a popular contemporary actor, who will fill in the shoes of SRK and also acting legend Amitabh Bachchan who played the role in the original 'Don'.
Speaking to BBC Asian Network, Farhan said, "I’m just really looking forward to get it going. I mean Ranveer is amazing. He’s great for the part. He’s also as you can imagine, really excited and really nervous, about the thing you’re filling some big shoes before you.
"But we went through the same emotional process when Shah Rukh did it and everyone was like ‘Oh my God, how can you replace Mr. Bachchan?.’ That whole thing happened then."
He added, "It really is about an actor coming in and owning the part and making it really like, giving it their style and their flair. And he has that, he has that in spades. So, he’s going to do a great job.
"I think the responsibility is more mine now to make sure that the script and the film works out the way I imagine.” Farhan was also asked what qualities made for a good Don to which he replied, “self confidence, flamboyance and the ability to do anything that your mind is set on."
While Bachchan had originally played the lead in the 1978 film 'Don', the remake of the same, featuring SRK in the lead, was helmed by Farhan in 2006.

'Don 3' is expected to release on big screens in 2025.
